Anne-Bridget Gary is a studio artist, lecturer, workshop instructor and event judge.
She was bestowed Emeritus Professor of Art and Design, University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.
Gary has worked and traveled extensively in Asia, India and Africa, working with fifth and sixth generation potters in the areas of Yixing, southern China, Kyongju, Korea, central and northern Japan. Anne-Bridget has exhibited her art work throughout the United States and internationally. Her ceramic sculpture and pottery are in collections ranging from the Transco Corporation in Houston, Texas to the Kavik Corporation in Amsterdam, Holland. She has taught at professional art schools and universities throughout the country including Oregon School of Arts and Crafts, Portland and Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington.
Fellowships Anne-Bridget has received include a Core Residency at the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and has received several foundation grants from the University of Wisconsin System to study abroad in residencies that include Italy and France and more recently at The Chautauqua Institute, New York. An international grant was awarded to her for work at The Sanskriti Kendra Foundation and Museum, New Delhi, India.
Gary’s Artist-in-residencies include Vallauris, France and Hambidge Center for the Arts and Sciences, Georgia. She presented her work at the International Conference for the Arts in Society at New York University, teleconferenced her work at The International Conference for the Arts in the Humanities at the American University in Paris, France and traveled to Xian, China for several weeks for research at several excavation sites and also present her work at The International Ceramic Editors Conference at Xian, Peoples Republic of China. Anne-Bridget collaborates with a photographer/designer to create site specific installations. She was a Fulbright finalist for an international scholar award to Austria.
Gary received her Master of Fine Arts degree from The Massachusetts College Art, Boston, the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and the Associate of Arts degree from Mercer County Community College, Trenton, New Jersey.
